CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

This afternoon 2.30 - 5.30
Was in the area so went along to this. Various stalls including Spokes, 20mph campaign. Seemed to be quite a good turnout including lots of bikes so may have been preaching to the converted.
Watched a bit of a film about Amsterdam cycling which was both inspiring and a little dispiriting when compared to Edinburgh.
Saw Lesley Hinds there; don't know if she cycled there but hopefully she saw some of the film.
'20mph campaign'
Really? Or do you mean the council PR initiative?
I am the local contact for 20s plenty and didn't get asked (unless I missed an email). There are other 20mph campaign groups, of course.
To be honest, now you mention it I'm not sure who it was! It probably was the council, thinking about it. I chatted with the guy and said I was fully supportive and had responded to the consultation, but was frustrated by the length of time to implement. He said it was due to the consultation period, so yeah, probably council....
I did pick up various cycling leaflets from the stalls and Sustrans maps, and a couple of folding bag/rucksack things that will be useful for shopping.
Kids on the wee bike obstacle course looked like they were having fun.
I was on the Spokes stall - I noticed the 20mph stall, but didn't have a chance to speak to them. Thety were giving away balloons on sticks that were very popular with the kiddies. Lesley Hinds hadn't cycled that day, but bought a Spokes map. Sarah Boyack was there too. Yes, it probably was mostly preaching to the converted, but also a few people new in town or new to cycling, so it was worthwhile.
Ah, I may have spoken to you then!
Didn't have the bike or I would have taken advantage of the bike marking.
Yes, agree it was a worthwhile event.
Would be good to have something similar on Castle Street and attract a different crowd!
