Even the “Welcome to Colinton” sign would be moved into the neighbouring ward.

So would you want to live in Ton or Colin?

  3. Read 'Colinton' as 'Corbyn' initially, and thought it was a plan to satisfy both sides of the Labour party.

I see the local Conservative Association homeowners worried about the value of their homes concerned residents have come out in force: all four of them, plus a Tory councillor.

Teapot. Storm, for the use of.

This is about the boundary of an electoral ward, not what constitutes the village. The two are very different things; different halves of Colinton will be in different wards. Colinton will still be in the (former) village of Colinton, which needs to get over the fact it was swallowed up by the city many, many years ago. The only signs that tell you which electoral sub-division you are in are those between council areas. When was the last time you saw a "Welcome to the Edinburgh East Constituency" or "You are Now Leaving South Team, Come Again Soon" signs? It's not even a story.

    "This is about"...

The dimming electoral prospects of a Conservative councillor if and when the ward boundary changes. Oh, and some local Tories residents don't fancy sharing councillors with residents of Wester Hailes.

If you think it's getting heated in Colinton, the temperature in Dundee's genteel suburb Broughty Ferry is reaching boiling point! Playground bully tactics indeed!
