I filled it out with cafes in the Lothians. I have the app which only covers Edinburgh. Hopefully they will extend its coverage.

The walls of the apple pie bakery Carnwath (open from 6a.m.. Though I would check that ) are festooned in prize certificates and indeed letters from their MSP congratulating them on their certificates/awards. They have scooped a fair few of the world scotch pie categories.
Back in the actual bakery I have seen an interesting appearance of vegetarian pies. This is not consistent but it does vary, sometimes curried, sometimes macaroni etc.
There is also a framed red sock which belongs to the owner who is the first woman to win the Carnwath running competition.
I am a big fan of the place. I think Dave C is another devotee, often taking an ashit steak pie home for his tea etc. Even the milk is half the price it is in Edinburgh. The review ChDot links to says the facade has four seats but I think more like 12.

Sounds well worth a visit. Although I might give the pie a miss.

Snowy, you mean the scotch pie? You would want the apple or rhubarb pie surely?

Another vote for Apple Pie Bakery here. But I just wish that it had customer toilets, as far as I know the nearest ones are in Biggar, 20 ? miles away.

@pintail, they stopped letting cyclists use their toilet when someone in clip in pedals slipped. The public toilets In Carnwath are closed. You can use the doctor's surgery 100 metres down the road to bigger. These are not open on Sunday mornings

Another fan of the Apple Pie bakery here. Not tried their savoury goods, but been tempted. Might have to do the A70 with an empty pannier bag some time ;-)

I don't drink coffee and mostly commute, which presented me with certain challenges when attempting to complete the survey, e.g. What's your favourite style of coffee? Other: "I don't drink coffee".

Comes from assiette. Apple pie spelling is Ashit. Say Ash then it. I had a lovely ride today threads passim mention the steak pie.
