Cycling home from work the previous night, I crossed rush-hour gridlock on nearby Govan Road. If there is a climate emergency in Scotland, this is it.

for what he predicts will be impending societal collapse induced by climate change.

That is, he says, a total breakdown within the next three to five years.

Many species and habitats will be lost if a lot more trees are planted in a bid to reverse climate change, a natural heritage officer has warned.

Victor Partridge, who looks after the Pentland Hills, said we must be careful not to destroy important habitats that have formed since deforestation in Scotland thousands of years ago.

Has Scottish Government effectively banned fracking? Think it has although news not really registered with media. No doubt INEOS will have something to say

    Good article from the Beeb.

Are they finally starting to get it (or just repeating press releases)?

Some members of the public seem to have had enough of XR.

Couple of incidents of members of public dispensing with protesters. Man forced his way through protesters for a burger yesterday, and protesters pulled off of a train today.

Asthma carbon footprint 'as big as eating meat'

Before the advent of canister inhalers, I used to have a "Spinhaler". To operate this, you inserted a pill-like capsule, then sucked as hard as you could, while a large tube-enclosed fan would spin like mad, atomising the powder in the pill.

No need for any propellants at all. Although I'm not sure how effective it would be if you struggling to breathe in the first place...

Maybe time to bring back the Spinhalers for the less serious cases...

Alos, I note the article makes no connection between air pollution and increasing asthma cases.

So UK Gov has now banned fracking in rUK. In Scotland though there is a moratorium which has been endlessly attacked by Tories here.
How are they going to explain that Scot Gov was actually in fact right to question the process?

Or will the media just ignore that inconvenient fact?

Alex Hynes, the managing director of Scotland’s railway, said more investment would be needed to future-proof the railway against rising temperatures.

“The railway in this country can no longer cope because of climate change,” he said.
