I should have created a thread for this yesterday. Whilst Tarvit Street is closed as stated, it seems that the work is currently being carried out around the corner on Leven Street. Tarvit Street itself appears to be in use only as a parking area for the contractors so its closure seems a bit suspect... Adding an extra direction (or a pedestrian sequence for that matter!) to the temporary traffic light sequence would no doubt cause even more conjestion. It is a shame that the cycle route to the canal isn't there yet.

It looks like there is a pedestrian sequence built into these lights, although I have yet to see it in operation and the movement of the works meant that the pedestrian crossing over Leven Street was blocked this morning... I cycled between the cones on Tarvit Street before getting off to push around parked vehicles, then getting back on and waiting for a suitable gap to head up Gilmore Place. The queue on Gilmore Place wasn't as bad today so maybe people are changing routes while the roadworks are going.

Yes, there's a ped phase.
After 6 or so, the parked vehicles are gone and you can just cycle straight through the cones on tarvit.
I've actually had less delay than normal there both mornings and evenings....
