Listening to news of this funding I got a distinct 'back to the future' feeling.
Of course road improvements wouldn't be all bad if 10% was spent on active travel. No mention was made of this though.
I heard the word 'connectivity' used a lot but not much on improvements for public transport which is surely key to making a city work. Inverness is fairly flat and compact for cycling and does have a campaigning group. Sure someone will have heard more on this opportunity to make the city deal work for non car users.

When the Kessock bridge was closed some Invernessians dug out a bike to complete the journey into the city centre. Think they did a temporary station as well?

The station at Conon Bridge was reopened in time to help take some of the strain. And of course, everyone was surprised that more people are using it now than the planners had modelled.

"Key plans include improvement to the A9/96 link road and the Longman interchange"

    Er.....that's it for 'transport'.
