The poll is fairly indicative that this forum has no issue with the triple trilogy with the middle three made first and the prequel trilogy made after this which has now balance out with 7, 8 and 9 now being made as the final trilogy thus all well in the universe except perhaps in a specific household up towards the university.

Stop confusing the child then and accept the will of the forum.?

You know why the English cat called 1-2-3 beat the French cat called Un deux trois in the boat race?

Because un deux trois cat sank

  6. "That's a bit mean. I like Natalie Portman."

No no no no no. That was my point. I was perhaps a little subtle, the 'orrible beast being Mr Christensen...

    Natalie however....

I suppose Clones has the robotic-right-hand-derivation thing and Where Boba Got His Hat, but it could easily lose a couple of hours of fluff. Hopefully George Lucas was taking note of audience reactions to the ice-cave-homage-scene in Awakens and comparing them to his clunkily-announced Yoda-drawing scene near the end of Clones.

Apart from the odd bit of selected-scene story-fleshing I try to steer the oldest child towards the original trilogy. He might need one sweep through them before Rogue One comes out, though it'll hopefully be this-was-before-Episode-IV rather than this-is-between-Sith-and-IV.

You could just skip the numbering system and the spurious "Star Wars:" prefix and call each on by their real names:

Star Wars (the original and best- forget the "A New Hope" later addition - no longer necessary)
    The Empire Strikes Back
    Return of the Jedi
    The Force Awakens
(I had to look up the following because they were so forgettable)
    The Phantom Menace
    Attack of the Clones
    Revenge of the Sith

Getting rid of numerical designations altogether makes it much easier to dismiss the inferior DaVa trilogy.

  9. If we're sticking with original names we could use Blue Harvest instead of Return of the Jedi...

Am I the only person on this forum who has never seen any of the Star Wars films?

  12. Sorry paddyirish, I'm not sure I follow you? You typed some words there, but they don't appear to make any sense.

@paddyirish you could pitch an idea for a show called I've Never Seen Star Wars, get some indie comic like Marcus Brigstoke to present it and he follows people around doing things we have all done but they haven't. E.g. Art critic Brian Sewell goes to fish and chip shops in his slippers and buys a poke of chips.

Oh wait, Brian Sewell died, oh wait this programme already exists

You could have a television panel-quiz about Star Wars etc. in which the contestants were people who profess to have never seen the films, just to see how much stuff they've picked up. It's hard to not accidentally absorb any information about something in which you have no interest - I have no interest in professional association football but am still unfortunately aware of information concerning it, mostly due to the amount of time other people spend jibbering about it within range of my ears.

Rogue One A Star Wars Story coming our in December is set between the end of the prequel trilogy and the start of the main trilogy.

Trailer looks good. Forrest Whitaker in charge, female hero, plenty of AT80 action

Many rebels died to get this information

  18. @paddyirish The most interesting thing I know is that some sound effects were produced by attaching a slinky to a plastic cup. Nice demo for classes, it makes a whoosh-oink sound.

I've only seen bits, a few youtube clips and I'm vaguely aware of some characters. One of my exes dragged me into one of the films in the late 1990s when they were repeated in the cinemas. Her dream job was working as a vet on a whaling vessel making sure that the whales are dead before being cut up, so it was better not to disagree with her.

It was something about a young man from the desert looking for a purpose in life, so a religious sect trained him for a suicide mission against a government property.

It didn't really interest me enough to watch the others, and we broke up anyway.
