"In a country where it rains about 250 days a year, the way forward for Dublin is more bicycles"

The climate data on Wikipedia is interesting:
    Average annual rainfall:
    Dublin - 714.6 mm
    Amsterdam - 838 mm
    Edinburgh - 704.3 mm

He did say Ireland, not Dublin in the sheltered East.
Galway in the West has 300 wet days per year and 900mm annually.
Tho it is usually "soft" rain so ok for cycling in.

If he replaced cyclist with many other minorities he would probably have been arrested.

Maybe he should relocate his house next to Dublin airport, under the flight path. Then he can walk home from work and enjoy summer parties on the lawn with the fresh smell of Jet A-1 and the gentle hum of his overhead creations.
