No mention of ActiveTravel or cycling...
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 14years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

That is because Active Travel lobbying is from the grass roots not big companies with money. MacKay Hannah are organising that conference out of the goodness of their hearts, they are doing for cold hard cash.
Read the about section of MacKay Hannah's website and see how the game is played.
There is no money backing Active Travel or cycling...
These events often have exhibitors - perhaps a national organisation like Sustrans ought to be there?
Ooh, you cynic @Kim. It's basically a networking event, and I'm pretty sure "good" transport people have attended it in the past - Sustrans, car club folks, lots of public transport representatives.
Some of the subjects to be covered include:
•Planning, population and transport
•Planned systems or consumer led services?
•What does the 'Uber' revolution mean for wider transport?
•Transport, cost and competitiveness
•Supporting export opportunity
•Business growth
•Investment: Projects, services and infrastructure
•Interoperability and door-to-door
•What/who is the transport system for?
•Mind the gaps - what's missing?
•Disruptive and new technology
•Smart data
•The global market for the Internet of Transport things
•2030: Getting to carbon neutral
•Emissions limits: What's next?
•Systems and sustainability
