Seems to be an old video yet it's been posted now. Unprofessional officer.

That police officer is off duty. On his own, and grumpy. At one point he says he will be retiring soon. He is also trying to paternally give safety advice to the cyclist by saying he will end up under a lorry if he continues to cycle as he did. The cyclist disagrees.

He toots his horn at the cyclist then later uses his siren to pull him over. Earlier in the video you see a car pulling out and accelerating to avoid cutting up the bikes. Poor driving but just very trivial. Same level as the infringement of the cyclist, if indeed he infringed. Totally pointless action by the copper.

At one point the cyclist skirts with refusing to give his name to the officer but as he was off duty that is probably OK.

He wasn't under arrest so not obliged to answer any question at all, is he?

There isn't a camera view which lets us see if the cyclist signalled, or looked before he pulled out, so it's difficult to tell. What you can see is him taking a corner wide and essentially pushing the police car wide too.

You can understand the officers view to some extent. Whether driver or cyclist, there's always someone who *must* go faster, and the cyclist not content to keep with the flow of cycle traffic is at least demonstrating that sort of impatience...

As has been said, it an old video and has been around before (road.cc maybe) and show two chumps going at it.

While it's good to see the cycle lanes in London so busy it does highlight that must-get-in-front types cycle as well as drive!
