I wonder what the ENews thinks...

    "

Drivers travelling between the Capital and Glasgow have been slapped with fines worth thousands of pounds after average speed cameras were installed at Scotland’s busiest motorways.

Oh, those poor drivers - a 50mph speed limit! Just to protect workers undertaking "roadworks" - an odd way to describe a £500,000,000 motorway construction project.

    The comments are hilarious.

If only there was a way that you could drive and know exactly how fast you were going at any given time. I'm sure they'd have to make it into a great big display that you could look at whenever you wanted. Some sort of 'speed meter', but I'm sure they'll come up with a snappier name for it.

The cameras, known as “yellow vultures”,

    By whom?

There's no byline on the story - perhaps it's a press release or news agency piece? (I don't know if the Scotsman has journalists any more.)

They've even got a "sovereign citizen" in the comments. That is a veritable feast of absurdity right there.

My wife's car must be broken, as I drove it through four or five different 50mph-on-a-motorway zones over the past couple of weeks (beginning with the M8) without attracting any FPNs. I also successfully negotiated several city-centre 20mph roads without breaking its gearbox.

Still waiting for the first comment saying that the police should concentrate on catching the real dangerous criminals: pavement cyclists.
