"I crashed my car playing Pokemon Go"
"The police gave me a couple of tickets – for use of an electronic device while driving, and failure to stay within my lane."
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

I know one day a cyclist will run over a Pokemoniac. Pedestrians are distracted enough by electronic attachments. I've nearly mown down a few who have stopped to read their Smartphones in a cycle lane.
The smart way to play is on the top deck of a bus apparently.

I'm sure you don't mean that @Rosie, it sounds like the 'I am nearly killed by speeding lycra-clad morons every day.'
What I'm convinced you intended was 'I've had to come to a controlled halt for a few who have stopped to read their Smartphones in a cycle lane and politely asked them to step back onto the pavement.'
A colleague is sporting a split eyebrow due to a Pokemon-cycle coincidence...
Whilst I was tickled to think of him cycling along whilst hunting, training or whatever, in reality it was a "stepped out front of me" issue - my colleague took avoidance measures and slipped on wet "safety" paving through the Meadows.
I'd blame the tramline slabs, rather than the pedestrian, but I can see that the visually distracted are more likely to unexpectedly step out in front of a silent vehicle!
On the farm, we always knew which way the animals were going to attempt to escape - but humans are capable of moving without looking where we're going!

I never said it wasn't good at getting people to explore and exercise, that is the only good point to it.
Sadly those who want to pay to play will be too hard to beat for kids who can't pay and parents won't pay. There was a heart warming story about an autistic boy who has been going outdoors for the first time in 5 years (barring trips to college) so there is positives to it.
I'm just old and grumpy slightly peeved by the fact it is the same thing as Ingress but with more standing about at a "gym" pointless combat against your own side "training" and less incentive to go further to take down links that are getting in your way or putting up links to cover the continent...
Adding cuddly cartoon characters and suddenly everyone goes nuts when it has essentially been around for 3 years.
Finally I get to claim to be geek before it was chic. Still old and grumpy though
