Saw a cyclist come off this morning while trying to avoid a dog that had run across the cycle path. Seemed okay. Thought his bike was damaged but apparently saddle had been stolen off it before. Owner of dog was properly apologetic and tried to give him her details - think he should have taken them....just in case injuries turned out to be worse than apparent. Amazing that sort of thing doesn't happen more often really.

A big dog? I've been "almost" got by dogs a couple of time riding across MMW at night when little yabby black things off their leashes suddenly lunge out of the darkness into your path asking for a fight

I had to skid evasively off onto the grass at Bingham a couple of years back but the dog I was attempting to avoid still managed to get a paw under my wheel. This was after pointedly slowing right down and waiting for the stupid thing to work out where it was going to go, though it ran round back in front of me after I passed it. Owner appeared almost as stupid and uncomprehending as the dog.

for the 1st time ever today i got chased by a dog in the Dell.

A collie came out of the park and belted along next to me barking like buggery and wouldn't stop til we got to the gate under the bridge.

Not too bothered overall but had i not kept going and ignored it or been not as confident, it might have been super scary.

All i thought about was not hurting it with the bike and all it was thinking about was destroying my Shimano MW80's.
