    I'm certainly not the only one thinking this is a somewhat convenient end (for certain purposes) to this establishment. Work has been stopped on it for about 2-3 years now, and judging by all the brand new windows and patio doors which were smashed in, a contractor was double-crossed on payment and decided to "finish" the job with heavy metal implements.

    I understand the building's last known owner has a long "history" too when it comes to doing works without appropriate permission.

    Whatever the 'truth', it highlights a wider problem where ownership outways any wider public interests when it comes to derelict buildings/land, empty houses etc.

    The classic used to be that factories didn't pay rates if the roof was removed...
