    The mother of all consultations.

Through 'Connecting our City, Transforming our Places', the City of Edinburgh Council is setting out bold, ambitious ideas that will help achieve the Edinburgh 2050 vision; a fairer, thriving, connected and inspired city.

Thanks for the plug! If you're planning on booking this and haven't got round to it yet, it would be helpful as we need to get the lunch order in.

An ambitious regeneration project at Granton Waterfront will take a step forward next month.

The City of Edinburgh Council will begin an intensive six month period of public engagement to deliver a vibrant, well connected, new city quarter.

The Council’s vision for the area (external link)is for around 4,000 new homes, services, retail and high quality public realm to be built over the next 15 years. The first phase of public engagement will start on Thursday, 8 November, with future events planned for January and March.

A propos Granton Waterfront Development, this probably has a limited shelf life given the current climate castrophe and certainty of sea level rises.

Don't worry once the developers have built it will fall on the state to pay for whatever flood defences are necessary to protect the private property. Anyone who thought the Roseburn work was expensive will be in for a shock.

This is a planning application rather than a consultation this is from spokes facebook page:

    5 Millar Place Edinburgh EH10 5HJ
Demolition of existing office and erection of new office and x 2 residential units.

Spokes objects to this application on the grounds that the passageway which connects Millar Place to Maxwell St will no longer be free of steps, under the proposals.

At present there are no steps. This infringement of access on a public right of way will affect not only cycles but also the disabled and other groups such as parents with buggies. It is a retrograde proposal, and completely unacceptable.
Last date for objections Mon 03 Dec 2018

Consultation on a new crossing for Corstorphine Road at Kaimes Road (10 years in the making):

    https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/sfc/corstorphine-road-pedx/

It doesn’t appear to be a toucan, but I expect lots of cyclists to use it to get to the Pinkhill path.

@Frenchy - had a look at that and the map is in greyscale. You can't make out the paths. Am I doing something wrong?

There should be path overlays in various colours. Is there a legend bar you can click on? You might be able to check the box to display them there.

EDIT: Maybe the fullscreen version will work better?https://midlothian.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=4f01c4ef8402473094aa98e7e32e2fec

This one seems to have passed us by: https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/bi/dowies-mill-weir-fish-migration-improvement/

It's cosmetic from a cycling point of view, changing a view many of us are familiar with.

The notice was presumably posted on Cramond Brig at the end of January but I've been off the bike for most of February so didn't see it until Tuesday.

Consultation is up for a new bridge over the Canal and connecting path to the surf centre. Surely the developers should be paying for/building this...?

I think they are paying for it, via development contributions.
