    A well worn phrase -

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Think_globally,_act_locally

On a day like today, it's perhaps easier not to think so much about the global.

One simplistic interpretation (Brexit too) is that 'people want change'.

Of course some changes might be better than others...

To a large extent 'we' want change too. Some of it might be based on 'logic' or even 'evidence' - or maybe just 'hope for better'.

Some changes seem to be happening.

PoP action might be having an influence on Humza Yousaf.

Friends of Bears Way and the Roseburn Cycle Route group are working for change - even if it's because of having to resist resistance to change!

Next year http://walkcyclevote.scot will point to ways to change after the May election.

    Think, then maybe act.

(And of course Spokes continues to think and act!)

It's almost that time of year when people may or may not be making resolutions for the coming year.

This has been a momentous year globally and locally.

Globally next year is unlikely to calm down.

    Locally all sorts of possibilities.

There is the May election with an outcome (in Edinburgh) impossible to read. It is (almost) impossible for any party to have an overall majority.

So coalition(s) - formal or on an issues by issue basis.

The Roseburn Option A result is GREAT. Not built yet and still subject to a review after 12 months but a great result on lots of levels.

Possible the most important aspect is that Friday's meeting's outcome was approved by ALL five party leaders. Whether those individuals have the full backing of their respective party groups is another matter.

It's a significant step forward and probably would not have happened so decisively (there was, all along, the possibility of 'compromise' or delay) without a mass effort and also massive effort by a small number of people.

I suspect some of them will not be resolving to find another campaign to take on, but there will be plenty of scope in 2017 to encourage Edinburgh to become a nicer place to live/work/walk/cycle.

Maybe a few people here will get another person cycling to work -
