    I've done all sorts of work for all sorts of rewards. With the exception of a couple of satisfying and sorely-missed outliers I could plot a straight line graph of social utility versus financial reward with a slope of -1.

    Thing is anybody can do useful work, but you have to be a proper clever-dick to make things worse and get away with it.
