Brunstane Burn resurfacing work

    Until 20 April the Brunstane Burn Path will be closed at Daiches Braes for resurfacing. There's a detour in place along the road.

    Widening also? I rode it once and didn't ever go back as it's really just a narrow walking trail and unsuitable for cycling

    @Klaxon yes, I think so. It was overgrown for many years. They scraped off the debris about six years ago and revealed a path with stone edging. Unfortunately they also removed a lot of the finer top dressing and exposed the rubble founds which became puddles. This time they seem to be tarmacing the whole thing.

    The cynic in me thinks it may improve the environmental impact asessment for the housing proposal just beyond there in the field bounded by Newhailes. Nice commutable path into the city centre.

    Yes, I went round that way a couple of days ago. Super-smooth tarmac from the Gilbertstoun road to the east coast mainline underpass.
