Conservative majority of 70, with a 7.5% lead over Labour nationally. SNP to lose five or six seats, mainly to the Tories. Ian Murray to hold on in Edinburgh South, and to remain Scotland's only Labour MP.

"I haven't the first notion of what will happen in Edinburgh South and I participated in the campaign there."

I am confident(ish) that it will be Murray or Eadie.

I think JE will just edge it as the Unionist vote will split Lab/Tory, so three parties with about 30% (of those who turn out).

    That's (FPTP) democracy.

Having seen for myself the turnout in the leafier parts of Edinburgh South West in the locals I would not at all be surprised if I have Miles Briggs as my MP from tomorrow. Is there any wonder I drink?

Tory majority of 200 - polls always underestimate the ashamed / sneaky Tory factor. Lib Dems all but wiped out. In Scotland, SNP to keep ~ 50 seats and all parties to claim victory/mandate ...

If the Tories get a majority of 200 after that campaign then we might as well stop having elections.

    @IWRATS
agreed, but the Tories will have swallowed up the kipper vote. May is giving them everything they could dream of, especially the offensiveness to Europeans in the Post Article 50 skirmishes.

I'm surprised that more hasn't been made of May being Farage's puppet in this campaign.

The grey vote will turn out en masse, with the opposition much less likely (voter fatigue/bad weather)

    "

A survey by Labour's own pollsters suggests Theresa May's Conservatives are on course for a crushing victory in the General Election.

The UK-wide poll by BMG for The Herald gives the Tories a 13 point lead over Jeremy Corbyn's party.

If replicated on polling day the gap would give Mrs May a thumping 110-seat majority in the House of Commons.

    Resignation predictions?

    Tim Farron?
    Not JC

Theresa permanently damaged? But if her majority is big enough she'll brush it off and it will be forgotten.

Baron Darling of Roulanish, leading to a Baronial bye-election.

    Farron, Dugdale to resign.

What will happen to Angus Robertson's roles if he loses his seat?

What will happen to Angus Robertson's roles

If Joanna Cherry survives, I'd expect her to lead in Westminster.

    "Farron, Dugdale to resign"

Perhaps, though that would seem like the old 'someone has to be sacrificed'.

Does either party have an alternative who could inspire/do better?

If my polling station is anything to go by, *lots* of OAPs voting, hardly anyone younger. Where are all the young people?

At work, I'd guess. Usually much younger demographic 5pm+.

I happen to be off work today but yuk this rain, I'm trying to convince myself to just bite the bullet and go, but it's so heavy!

Did see something on Twitter suggesting that John Curtice (and presumably everyone else in the secret room) will have a pretty good idea of the result by 2pm.

It's all quite a lot of effort just to satisfy everyone's impatience.

I think John Suggested he will know by 2am.

I will know the South West Result by 11.30 to within a few hundred votes!

If you asked me yesterday I would have said Joanna, Jim & Tony should all win. However having spent the day cycling between polling stations and doing knock up I'm not so sure!!!

We'll soon know if the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has stepped back from the brink or put on its cowboy hat, straddled the bomb and dropped into oblivion.

I still think nothing good will come of this election.

Had hilarious chat outside polling station with SNP chap. I said, do you think Joanna will get in. He said his gut said yes. Then he starts on Kezia dugdale telling people to vote Tory. I said really? She told me to vote labour. He seemed sure of this (my eldest tells me Nicola sturgeon says Kezia dugdale says vote Tory) . He is unwavering, so i say , well my wife is labour through and through and she voted SNP. This cheered him. So I said but I voted for the foysolmchoudhury. So he said Well that is another nail in our coffin. So I said, what about your gut?

There's some quote somewhere by someone who said "but I prefer not to think with my gut. Really, sometimes it's OK to be uncertain."
