@chdot, that is another way of putting baldycyclist's point that the revival in Scottish Tories following SNP focus on annihilating Scottish labour, put may back in
For me the north of Scotland and indeed the borders have only ever seen tartan Tories elected. Either SNP band or Tory Tory brand. SNP in central Scotland is a different party whIch is left leaning, same as Scottish labour.
Th SNP share of the vote 36.9 translated into big majority of seats
Corbyn 's share 40.0 Translated into minority of seats.
Corbyn did woo UKIP brexit working class along with students. He needs to get more students and other young people voting. This is his big achievement. Using people who feel they are all the same why bother all voted for him, not for Scottish labour, or blairite labour but his Bennite labour. SNP did this up here too but they are establishment now and decade of talk but little action due to focus on indyrefs.

Labour anaihilated themselves. Looks like they're stuck with Ms Dugdale for a while longer.

"Labour anaihilated themselves"
Largely true in Scotland in recent years. What happens next with or without Kezia will be interesting viewing.
"SNP in central Scotland is a different party whIch is left leaning, same as Scottish labour."
So they'll fight for ever or (unlikely) work more on/with the common ground.
OR (perhaps even more unlikely) a new centre-left party could emerge.
Though, of course, it would first have to have a policy on Indy!

@ wee folds
Scottish labour culpable of course, esp round your way with DUP style corruption however that seems to have continued anyway. In bumble bee colours
Scottish labour also could not see the bloc vote shift and deluded for years
However, compliments to SNP for tight party discipline and presenting that they were all left of centre.
What is your take on the mini coatbridge bounce for Scottish labour?
Hey, the lovely lad that lived over the back from you in Ayr just made me a cracking poetry for my James Joyce recitation I am doing in the Waverley bar when I get back from Coatbridge next Friday. He lives in Bangor, county down these days

I just cycle through Coatbridge every day, I've got no idea what goes on there and I'm fairly happy to stay that way.
Hmmmmmm Mc Henry? Our dog ate their apples when they fell on our side of the fence.

Saw that one already.
Management is in town, seems there is a footballist thing on so I might need to rescue her. Hamden should mean it's OK. The train can be unpleasant between Queen St and Bellgrove is there is game in Parkhead. It's unusual for the management to use the train so this was a small success.

Mr Kerevan, who won the seat last time with a majority of 6803, claimed it had been a “very odd election” locally. He said: “Clearly the rise in the Labour vote here and in Midlothian is due to the Corbyn factor. Scottish Labour fought this campaign without mentioning Corbyn. There is going to be a little reckoning there.”

The Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson denied reports that she wanted a breakway for the party in Scotland, tweeting: “B****cks”. The report had credibility in part because of Davidson’s success in securing 13 Tory MPs in Scotland. She had already sought assurances from Theresa May that an alliance with the DUP would not mean any compromise on LGBTI rights.

According to an article by the London Evening Standard, the Labour leader was thwarted in his attempt to become Prime Minister by the strong performance of the Conservative Party in Scotland.

Ruth Davidson has vowed to put Scotland's case "forcefully" to the Prime Minister after significantly increasing the number of Tory MPs north of the border.
However, the Scottish Tory leader dismissed reports she will seek to break the Scottish Conservatives away from the UK party following Theresa May's disastrous General Election result.

@acsimpson Just because Some people got it wrong does not mean they were lying. Although did you see the vote share graphs in the Tory Leaflets?
I agree with @chdot the Tory obsession over Indyref2 is 'what done it for Ruthie'.
Instead of focusing on Delivering the issues that should matter Labour helped Ruth by also obsessing over InyRef2.
Ironic now is it not that Arline Foster is about to demand that Ruth and Kezia are pushed off the edge of this flat Earth! I do hope neither of them was hoping to order an anniversary cake?
Once we have all been screwed by Brexit and are too poor to Buy Newspapers or afford the internet connection and the ID card needed to register to vote. Then and Only then will people wake up and realise what a folly Brexit is. The Torys might just die out in Scotland again. Until then The single issue will mask their true policies.

Sorry, Radio4 News is obviously conspiring to keep that hidden.

Sounds like you're not as sure as you were?
How about emigrating to NI?
