Was just in Waitrose. No milk.

Man on 'help' counter - 'We'll get a delivery when they re-open the Forth Bridge'

Me - 'oh, is it shut again?'

Mohc - 'it's been shut since yesterday'

Me - 'it opened yesterday afternoon'

Mohc - 'we have no more information.'

No threat to bread supplies in Argyle Place. I stocked up on bread flour at the first sign of snowflakes and have enough yeast to last for months.

    Likewise. A weekend's breadmaking beckons.

And I've got good coffee in too, so no need to equalise it with milk

    Coffee without milk

    Whisky without water

    Bike without gears

Some things are more meant to be than others...

I made two batches of Christmas puddings yesterday, cinnamon buns being rolled as I type, and a Christmas cake ready to go in the oven once the buns come out.

None yesterday either (although lots the day before apparently). Holy Corner Tesco similarly emptied, but Scotmid had been resupplied yesterday. And Cameron Toll Sainsbury's has lots of milk.

Waitrose had tonnes of ready-made, party-food type stuff reduced for quick sale, but huge queues of people shopping...can't quite believe everyone was stocking up for baking, but maybe.

Sainsbury's in St Andrew Sq has plenty.

Waitrose had run out of sliced bread yesterday, but they seemed to have good supplies of freshly baked stuff so they were obvioulsy running their bakers at maximum speed.

@SRD - "I made two batches of Christmas puddings yesterday, cinnamon buns being rolled as I type, and a Christmas cake ready to go in the oven once the buns come out."

Can I come round? Like, now?

@chdot - Waitrose? Pffft, there's the problem right there, shopping in the one shop there is of that type in town so all other shoppers who crave the waitrose bags go there too.. I'll post later from Dalry Lidl and let you know how they are for bread and milk

Yeah I know (Though there are two Ws in Ed.)

    'Other shops are available'

    I go to some too.

It was just the first one down the hill that I 'knew' would have milk. I got it in the second.

The little Scotmids in Marchmont were out of bread and milk the other night. I don't need to do a "big shop" so have steered clear of Waitrose

Only 20% of normal fuel supplies are getting through from Grangemouth.

Well, since only 20% of car drivers seem to be using any, what's the problem?

Lidl - no bread no milk (they had skimmed but that doesn't count)

Waitrose - milk arrived, no packet bread.

    No half-price cheesecake.

Gr*ggs without pies - that is a definite rupture in the space time continuum. Was it just no pies or were the sausage rolls away too?
