This made me think of my argument yesterday with my friend, who just reacted worse and worse, the more data i gave her (even though she was the one insisting on data). Refused to accept TfL etc data on numbers of cyclists in London because it didn't correspond with her 'observations' as someone who lived there.

Very good though aimed at US (I am not bothered about George Washington and I already knew that about Napoleon) but I got the point.

Hey SRD tell your friend you cannot generalise from one salient exemplar.
Thus whilst his or her observations are very real to her or him they are nothing but one data point. Is he or she called Bishop Berkley?
