Mildly devastated that my boots (which are basically the only thing I wear apart from office shoes) are non-resurrectable.

The heel has worn through and the sole is lifting away from the uppers to let water in, but apparently becuase the edge of the sole is moulded *around* the uppers it can't be replaced. Scarpa Terra GTXs.

Five years old and worn pretty much daily, but still.

    Sad times...

Beloved boot death is a terrible thing.

I had a pair of Inov 8 boots that I don't think they make any more. Sad times when they had to go in the bin.

  3. I bought a pair of these boots at the start of the year, after buying a pair of Scarpa's Kinesis Tech GTX boots in Feb 2015 for my summer walking hols. They were so comfortable and such good quality that a pair of the Terra boots for everyday use became an imperative.

Looking forward to another 4 or so years of wear from them. Fantastic footwear.

I still mourn the sad demise of my first three season Salomon walking boots.

Bought them with my first ever substantial bonus. Asked Tiso to give me all the boots to try and not to mention price. They weren't even that dear, but it felt like crossing the Dolomites in my baffies.

Got another equivalent pair when they died, but the soles are coming loose. Just don't love them the same way.

You can't buy the same pair of boots twice...

You need Shoe Goo. Fairly toxic fumes when applying the stuff, but once dry it will bond your sole back to the uppers, form a waterproof seal. Will also fill modestly sized holes in heels and provide waterproof flexible seal.

Should be good for another six months of wear, anyway.

I bought a pair iof these or similar Italian boots from Nevis Sport on sauchiehall street in 1984 and then only like 25 years later wore out the leather on the heal when braking whilst sledging on a cresta run down old newmills road in Balerno. I was distraught when I realised what I had done.

    Dem's da breaks

Move along, nothing to see here

    Nobody died

I am similarly mourning the death of a beloved pair of boots. I may need to check out Shoe Goo.

Shoe Goo is good stuff. Just yesterday repeated my son's trainers where sole was flapping at front. Turn your Laurel & Hardy comedy boots into wearable items again.

    I'm not on commission honest.

Did I say "repeated"? I meant "repaired".

    (Apple auto-correct. Grrrr.)

Bit bullet; replaced boots yesterday. I felt a firm, swift parting was easier than dragging it out over a month of damp feet.

Strangely enough, the new ones do seem to have much more support under-heel. Possibly the sole was collapsing more than I'd care to admit...

Shoe Goo noted for future use in less drastic circumstances.
