I bought into this after Tom put up a link. It has enough to make it run, and I'd be happy to meet up for a drink pre/post if anyone on here is going?

Nicky and I are going - my treat. I will broach the subject of a meet-up but it may be more cycling related activity than she can take in one evening.

Is the Sheep's Heid "around there"?

Any news on this? Was wondering about cycling there but not sure if there is anywhere secure to leave the bike?

As I live in Fife, I was also going to eat before hand, so if anyone else is in a similar mind, to eat out, I'd like to meet up before.

@ Dave C: Yes, I am going. I will take a small detour and cycle over to FK 2moro and look for bike parking and report back.

There's no mention of it on their website.

    Food - always.

I should be arriving with Liz by bus now.

I'm happy to eat anywhere, but not sure of Liz's preferences.

Definitely a few bike racks dotted around Fort Kinnaird, including these covered ones.

    pretty responsive to email:

    Good afternoon Iain,

    I hope you’re well.

Yes we do have several cycle parking areas on the centre, I have attached a map detailing their locations for you.
Improvements to our cycle provisions is something we have been addressing recently so you should see a few more cycle parking areas appearing over the coming months and we are also in the process of updating our website to include a cycle parking plan.

If you have any problems locating these while on site or need assistance with anything else please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the number below.

    Have a lovely day.

    Kind Regards,

    Emma Mackenzie

The fact they even have a map specifically to show bike parking is I feel close to astounding. Good on them.

Can you check if they're all on OSM?

@ Frenchy - 5 of the 7 on their map are on OSM - I've emailed you the map for reference.

OK, if you are joining me for food, then let me know your preference. We can eat at Subway, Greggs, or McDonalds....

    Just Kidding!

    We can eat at

TGI Fridays, Chiquito's, Nandos, Pizza Express etc...

Unless there is a better option close by, which not visible on OSM.

We'll be leaving the ERI around 17:20 by public transport.

Nicky has been quite unwell today so I can't commit to anything before the screening at this point. Fingers crossed she recovers in time.

    @ DaveC - that's a frightening list, I'd say Pizza Express

    Question,

I signed up for this. I was told I would not be charged until the required min uptake happened. I then received an email saying this threshold had been reached. My other half said we had been charged for the ticket, but, unlike most other events we signup for, I have not received any type of confirmation email, with a barcode...

    Should I?

There is a link on the top of the demand film website, where you can pop in your email address and they then send you the tickets. See you all later.

I got an email with a link to download the ticket when I booked, but I booked after the threshold had been reached - maybe a different process ?

Dave C, I received the confirmation email and deleted it, then wondered the same thing - did it have the ticket download link on it? I contacted the organisers and they (re)sent the tickets which I have printed off. They did so very quickly.

Cheers all sorted now. If you go to their home page, and look at the top of the page banner on the right hand side, there is a link to download the tickets. Pop in the email you gave when you subscribed and you should receive an email within a couple of minutes.

That was really good. If it appears on Netflix I'd recommend watching it. Amazing scenery, a bit of history and a genuinely engaging team.

Spoke to Dave C and saw Anth in the distance.

    T'was a fantastic film!!

The scenery over the Pyrenees mountains is truly awe-inspiring! I know someone who walks over them on holidays, and I can see why.

These original riders, 1 Kiwi and 3 Aussies were truly people of steel. Riding nearly 4000 miles over ~26 days, with some rides of 200+ miles over the Pyrenees in a day, setting off at midnight, was a feat I do not think I could manage. Tales of 12 punctures in 1 day! Riding on gravel tracks for most of the journey! Wow!!

This film recreated that 1928 ride, on original 1920s bikes. No gears except a few spare wheels with different sized cogs on the rear.

This gives me a new hunger for a return to France in 2019.

Also many thanks to Iain for assisting me with my loose pedal, without you I'd have had an uncomfortable ride home.
