If anyone's planning running a feeder ride (or is interested in what it might entail) let me know

I can attempt the southside feeder again: Inch, Bike Station, Meadows (possibly starting at Sherriffhall, although that's never attracted anyone!).

Yeah it's a shame we haven't got more from the park and ride

@Roibeard - I can do the Sheriffhall bit again, it's barely out of my way anyway. Two people did turn up last year, they were just slightly late so I'd already left. They met us at Inch House.

Something will happen from Fife this year (been some chat), and we need to commemorate Jim Drummond somehow too.

Happy to help the feeder that started in Ratho

Then joined up with various feeders along the way. Good fun

    @Gembo

Thanks for the offer. I will be in touch again soon.

@Baldcyclist - yes I was hoping someone would pick up the baton from Jim Drummond. I've already had a message from someone telling me he was how they first heard about POP as he apparently tried to drum up support in all the clubs around.

The West Edinburgh Feeder Ride will be running again from Corstorphine to Roseburn and on to the Meadows.

We have asked for and expect (but awaiting official confirmation) Police support for the Kings Theatre Junction and so would encourage any other relevant feeder rides to join us to get across.

Baldycyclist - Approx 11am from the Russell Road Zigzags if that helps. (Timings to be confirmed to link with Harrison Park ride for Kings Theatre Jnct)

Gembo - As you did so well last year, you can again entertain the troops waiting at the zigzags and encourage a swift departure when we get there...

I intend to arrange a feeder ride from Hermiston Park and Ride. This will join with the West Edinburgh Feeder Ride at Balgreen. Thanks to Gembo for his support last year and this. Details to follow.

The Harrison Park Feeder Ride will be running again from Harrison Park to the Meadows via Polwarth and Gilmore Terrace. We will join up with the West Edinburgh ride at Gilmore Place.

We have asked for (but are awaiting official confirmation of) Police support for the King's Theatre Junction.

Fab. We were just talking in the pub in Dumfries about the best park and ride options for POP. Hermiston might be better than Sheriffhall.

@sallyhinch, if you come up m74 then cut across to the A. 70 then yes go down from Currie to hermiston park and ride for sure.

Google Maps says it's a whole minute quicker to drive to Sheriffhall than Hermiston, and four minutes quicker to cycle from Sheriffhall to the Meadows than from Hermiston.

You don't need to cycle on the A7 if you go via Hermiston, though...

Next PoP Planners meeting reminder (most folk are on Slack but I know not everyone gets notifications consistently): 16:00 till 18:00 Sunday (the 11th) - now meeting at the Bike Station on Causewayside.

OK so all I've got on the site at the moment is Harrison Park as that's the only one I've got full details for. As you get the rest organised let me know and I'll start adding them to the page. I might do a map of starting points (and joining points along the way?) if that sounds useful ...

There will be West Edinburgh Feeder Ride, we're just waiting for the timings of our TTROs to come out so we can firm up our own timings.

Will be family friendly and happy to accommodate anyone from the North or West who want to join us.

There will be a Hermiston Park and Ride feeder ride. I was out checking and photographing the meeting point this morning. Also looking for alternative car parking for those who cannot get under the height barriers with bikes on the roof. As we are meeting the West Edinburgh feeder ride at Balgreen we will be coordinating our timings. Once Hankchief has finalised his timings I will get my ride details publicised.

I am putting together a route for the Hermiston Feeder ride.

We are starting at the Hermiston Park and Ride and finishing at Balgreen Tram Stop, where we will join the West Edinburgh feeder ride.

When I plan the ride using Cyclesteets I get the following route:-

    https://edinburgh.cyclestreets.net/journey/60238182/#quietest

As there is a gate on this route as you cross over the canal, we may prefer to go down Gogar Station Road and join the canal after crossing over it. I am not sure how I can persaude Cyclestreets to plan that route.

I am looking for these two routes to be combined:-

    https://edinburgh.cyclestreets.net/journey/60238184/#quietest

    https://edinburgh.cyclestreets.net/journey/60238187/#quietest

This would be a great help when I publicise this event and complete the CEC parades application form.

    Any advice much appreciated.

The gate is curious. No fence either side

No fence just hedge, bikes can squeeze through without opening the gate, trailers need to open the gate.

@biketrain - depending on what you want to do, http://cycle.travel/ could work.

Its default route seems to be the one you want, but it can be tweaked by adding intermediate points.

Quite odd mangling of semantics as I understand them.

Why Glasgow will be going to PoP in Edinburgh (because Glasgow city council are charging for street closure, but not the fault of the current admin)

So I can work out this map for the West Edinburgh Feeder Ride.

I'm struggling to see how I can annotate it with timings etc.

@HC - you have a Slack message. I think we may have been working on the same thing at the same time.
