Well done, folks. Great job.
Nice touch not to have the politicians speaking today. Any chance that the speeches could be posted online somewhere? I'll confess that my concentration dipped in and out as I caught up with a few folk on the grass...
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

I got most of them on my Twitter feed (@pidginposting) although I missed the last one as my battery was fading. For some reason I can't link to them directly. Also a couple of vids of the Edinburgh West and Harrison Park rides going along Gilmore Place, the line-up before the start and the first 10 minutes (!) of people crossing the start line.
Totally missed it. Was it any good?
Some familiar faces in here:
Currently in McDs in Forfar with Frenchy & Greenroofer, as you do...

Bridies all round?
Times have changed Gembo, we've just ordered haggis & cheese paninis.
2 miles to go...
Well done organisers.
Lots of coverage in the media including the Scottish Sun. Wonder if having a name like Mark Beaumont to lead upped the coverage. Quite fetching pics in the Sun.
Having Mark Beaumont there definitely made a massive difference to the media interest.
Amazing ride @HankChief & crew.
Nice riding and the sun even came out.
(They aren't cycling back are they?!)
Some great individual portraits here - are you in it? https://www.flickr.com/photos/135714780@N05/sets/72157695522668374/
Thanks to all the organisers!
The more leisurely pace of the feeder was a good opportunity to reflect on the failings en route: https://twitter.com/talkporty/status/990334457801560067
@hankchief O tempora O mores
Was up at morningside Waitrose buying coffee bags for Mrs garto to take to school camp this morning and many littl PoP flags still on bikes in the racks
Our feeder ride was so leisurely paced that one participant managed to get herself a coffee on route :-)
Another spotting opportunity - are you in this video?

Fantastic work by Philip Gillespie in that Flickr collection (the four of us make an appearance cycling past the parliament (bike seat plus orange trailer). I think we missed out on the YouTube video above by about 10 seconds...)
My whistle precedes me in the YouTube video, not Seen myself in other albums except unhurt's Hats of PoP. I think Sally h has reposted the 2015 Aberdeen photo on Facebook? Not this year as no hankchief, Greenroofer or frenchy? Which she has now spotted
I've managed the impressive feat of appearing, so far, in just three photos, all courtesy of tarmacjockey. The video above is pretty good – lots of familiar faces – but I was much further back in the line.
none of me at all, except selfies! (that's probably just as well)
Easy spot as that's me on the video preview still. Not seen myself in any other albums, but the kids have become a bit obsessive about looking for themselves - they're still pretty peeved that their wee brother (and mother) made it on to the news.
Saw @gembo and a few others in the flickr album linked above.
Some amazing photos from people there.
Top moments for me:
1) Popping a spoke riding to #pop2018... Managed to buy another, and Dr Bike fitted it for me on the meadows in plenty of time for the start.
2) Standing in the rain on the meadows with Sally, IWRATS and Gruffalo, with almost no cyclists in sight, having a conversation with the council man that we would still expect most people to turn up, he was quite excited about being able to open the roads early!
3) Riding down to parliament with the group - not done that since year 1!
4) Being tracked down by the police at the end to ask if it was ok if they re-opened Horse Wynd - very nice of them to ask but they didn't really need to...!
5) Wife and baby attended in Trailer (thanks Algo!) and that made me very happy. Although she's looking down, or behind me in most photos - whoops. Will need to train her for photography positioning for n*** year
Good day in the end.
I almost missed POP after coming in with the Fife feeder and puncturing at Fountainbridge. Left Evens at 12:05, and still had to find wife and son, who I had assumed would have know how to get to the Meadows from Buccleuch Place. She’s definitely a driver and followed the road she had driven in on, rather than walking the 100 or so meters, sigh.
Anyway, we eventually joined on the very back of the ride, and made our way down a little detached from the rest. Was pretty good in the end as we had our own police escort, and the wee fella enjoyed sounding his siren on his balance bike all the way down.
The boy handled the ride fine, but Mrs Baldcyclist was terrified cycling on the cobbles, I’ll make a cyclist of her yet!
No photos of us, suspect all the cameras had gone by the time we passed, did catch myself in a video wandering around trying to find family.
@Gembo - indeed, I was clearly tireder than I thought last night
"tireder"
Still are?
@Baldcylist - is your username perhaps ironic?
I am at 11.57 alongside Andy W; both Andy A and Andy B two rows behind. Leith Feeder was basically "Andy on Parliament" and it would have been easier if I'd changed my name.
Funny cycling to the office through the Meadows after PoP.
There was a guy in the ASZ at the end of Melville Drive with a GoPro strapped to his helmet having a conversation with a motorist that traumatised both lanes of traffic into remaining stationary when the lights went green. Who knows what had happened...
Coach parked in the cycle lane/double yellows on Hope Park Crescent.
George IV Bridge wholly blocked by HGVs.
Nervous lady cyclist trapped in the stupid red stripe lane crossing Princes Street. I wanted to tell her to take primary, but didn't want to distract or frighten her.
NCN1 still blocked without warning or explanation at West Register House.
So it goes.
At just after 10:30, in my red rainjacket, riding behind Scoosh on his 'bent.
I think Scoosh & I may have spoken to @baldcyclist later without knowing he was a CCE regular, as we definitely spoke to someone whose wee one had an impressive little blue-light/siren on his bike!
