    Tomorrow at Edinburgh airport the sunrise is timed at 06.22 and the sunset 18.22. According to BBC weather. Though in London the sunrise is earlier as is the sunset but will be a minute over the 12 hours.

    These winds would therefore appear to be Equinoctal Gales.

    Some of the issue is related to the Sun having a diameter.

    Other factors are the equation of time. The sunrise/sunset times are not symmetrical about the equinox, or indeed the solstice. The earliest and latest are not on the longest and similarly the latest and earliest are not on the shortest day. This is partly a result of the Earth's rotation and partly because the orbit is not circular.

    Alternatively a derogatory term for a society such as ours which tolerates everyone having the pay the price and inhale the polluting fumes of others.
