@Gibbo Nail on head, etc. That's fundamentally the cause of much of the difficulty getting CEC to facilitate cycling and active travel more broadly. "Normal people don't do it." Or if they do, it's because they are too incapable or too young or too poor to drive a car and SURELY would prefer to drive if only they could.

It's pretty sickening given CEC Parks installed outdoor exercise equipment in the same locus (and which I have never seen being used, incidentally) which has much more visual impact/sharp edges/cost than a few Sheffield stands.

Agree - is nonsense. Place was parked out a week ago when I went by with charity tricyclist. Actually quite hostile for cyclists as parked up all the way up towards roundabout.
I actually spoke to council in presence of the owner Eddie 18 months ago to tell them that racks were required. Might be my fault ;-)

Would these be an acceptable solution meantime?

Those look solid to me, so they'd still hurt when someone ran into them.

Do they perhaps come in a gaseous form?

The good thing is the cycle team are still up for this so I anticipate a way forward.

They could be installed in noumenal form? Only any use for locking noumenal bikes but you Kant have everything.

If you just tie your bike to something using a slipknot, is that a numetal form bike rack?

Is that in addition to, or instead of, the No Motor Vehicles sign?

Instead of as the red circle with the motorbike flying over the top of the car is too hard to understand..

Signs on both sides of the road so now the taxis tourists and tramps that go down have no excuses
