“The signals are having a positive impact on speed through the village, delivering a reduction of up to 13%. Since they were installed 6 months ago, Scotland TranServ has continued to closely monitor the performance of the lights, working closely with Transport Scotland and the local authority.”

"…since the lights were installed in late 2017, they have been activated by speeding vehicles more than 370,000 times.

And on nearly 80,000 occasions, people have run the red light.” Daily Record

The amount of state-funded infrastructure required for lawless motorists is completely ludicrous.

And it's not scalable to have the lights everywhere

As usual the problem is lack of prosecution. The drivers jump the light because they know there is unlikely to be any repercussions. If there was a traffic camera recording and sending letters to them compliance would be much higher.

Although by my reckoning that is more than 500 activations a day. :-o
