The Scottish Parliament will host a Climate Week Festival in the basement car park of the building. The car park will be closed to vehicles for the day. People are encouraged to visit and attend the Parliament via active travel or public transport. The car park space will be pedestrianised for stalls and activities, including stalls from Sustrans and other climate and sustainability related organisations. There will also be activities such as trying electric bikes and sessions for creating personalised travel plans. The festival will run from 11am-2pm.

Who should attend? This event is open to the public as well as Scottish Parliament visitors and staff.

    1st October 11am - 2pm

Oooh, a festival in an underground car park. That sounds like a barrel load of laughs in lovely surroundings.

Honestly, you couldn't make it up.

Perhaps it could be seen as a practice run, for when the planet has melted and the remaining survivors are having to live underground?

Pure KPIwash though I'm sure Sustrans staff and parliament staff and everyone will prepare thoroughly and take it seriously.

If you think this is serious it becomes the first item in the programme of government. If you don't think it's serious why have a festival in a car park?
