Bumping this, and the entry is via Chapel Street now.
We should have live streaming. Waiting for the details.

Live streaming working well. I really should be there in person since I live minutes away, but I completely forgot about this before stumbling across the stream while browsing YouTube...

'Spoke' too soon. I have been disconnected a few times now but mostly keeping up with the speakers.

It's been a bit glitchy but not too bad.
Liked the young bloke and his ban all cars.

Yeah, he was really good. Let's hurry and replace the political incumbents with some of these young people who actually care about having a future.

WiFi died 3 or 4 times during the course of the evening which will explain the drop outs

@Klaxon - no other option at the University
@jdanielp - I was interested in the young guy's views that the younger middle-class generation are less keen to own a car. That's what I've been thinking - that high-tech hipster types like to live in the inner city, rather than in the suburbs, and connect via smart phones and public transport. He also touched on the class issue - that people from poorer backgrounds see the car as a status symbol. Also, of course, they are often less well provided with public transport and cycle routes - and storing cycles may be an issue. I used to visit a friend on the Magdalena Estate, and would have to lug my cycle up 3 flights of stairs as you couldn't leave it locked outside and there was no lift.

He was very good and liked his comment that sustainability committees are stacked with car users.
The energy use stats at Edin Uni from Dave Gorman were good. Microcosm of how the new green world could work with the elephant in the room being rising air travel (Edin airport growth).Sally Beamish did well presenting despite not being well. She was put on spot in Q&As on Labour's new hostility to work place parking levy.
"We want change without inconveniencing people." This attitude shared with all parties (except Greens) - as highlighted by FoE spokes woman.Posted 5 years ago # -
"We want change without inconveniencing people."
Yes well, not really likely to be possible!
PLUS (for instance) certain types of road user have been inconvencing others for a long time.
Expected better from her.
