TRO/18/38/HR is primarily about sorting out parking in King's Place, the car park between Portobello and Seafield Proms. Anyone that uses that route on foot or bike will know it's a bit of nightmare.

Sadly the TRO makes absolutely no provision to improve things by taking a bit of space for a path around the edge, or similar. It's just painting the bays and putting some time limits on how long you can park for.

Just in case anyone feels like commenting/objecting.

Really sorry for the last minute nature of this, completely forgot about posting it on here. Deadline is April 5th.

Are they going to at least resurface it? Or is this just paperwork to get the caravans out?

I would happly settle for no change other than remove the bloody caravans.

Even a ch***ne would be preferable the the current mess!

After going very quiet for a while this has kicked off again.

Spokes Porty has been asked to withdraw their objection to the TRO. They've declined to do so on the grounds that the TRO contains absolutely no provision for active travel at all.

Meanwhile, Portobello Community Council have launched a consultation to gather opinions:

    Please consider responding.

It's deeply disappointing that any consultation should contain an option to have no segregated path. This is a busy active travel route and a core path which currently requires picking through a busy car park.

It's also sad the the other two options are phrased to negatively:
Option 2. Reduce the number of parking spaces, ...
Option 3. Remove all parking spaces and ...

  8. Ideally, this would just be a nice bit of landscaped public realm with a wide shared path linking both proms.
