"I am looking for a forum to help identify garden plants/weeds and mystery poo, if anyone has suggestions."

@canuck I am in the My Scottish Garden Facebook group which has a good track record for identifying all three groups.

    mystery poo

The big black cat with the starey eyes that lives over the fence from me sometimes goes to the toilet in my garden. Its deposits are much lighter brown than those of foxes, whose are dark brown bordering on black. Fox poo makes grass grow incredibly well.

Long-time member, preceded only by chdot, Laid Back, Kim, WC, and a few others who I don't think post here anymore.

I ride the red torpedo, which is often seen going at top speed into and out of Edinburgh, and which is therefore also highly likely to be seen stuck in traffic. From time to time I also ride a sparkly purple recumbent, or a blue Brompton that I take on trains, or a beige Elephant Bike that I bought from Mrs DaveC and mostly use on the shopping run. I should probably try to cycle in ordinary clothes, but I think I'm incapable of it. If I'm not in lycra shorts I'm probably in Hummvees.

I don't have a car, but do have a big motorbike that Morningsider described as both lovely and terrifying.

I blog very occasionally, and put stuff on Flickr slightly more often.

i will look up that forum!
i'm getting reasonably good at poo, and can identify cat, fox, and badger with a reasonable amount of confidence.

I am a very rare interloper on this forum, having moved to the Borders 3 years ago. I still lurk although geographically I don't ride much in Edinburgh any more.

I ride a variety of platforms including standard road bikes, hybrids, recumbent 2 wheelers, recumbent tandem and recumbent trike.

If you ride in the Borders at the weekends you might see me out and about on one of my many contraptions.

Will be riding the bat bike (M5 CHR recumbent) on Sunday if any of you are going to the Tour o the Borders

    Thanks @chrisfl

I was directed here by one of the regulars at YACF as I am taking up a job, shortly (once the boring pre-employment checks have completed) in Edinburgh.

Now all I need is somewhere to stay, preferably within a reasonable bike commute (8/9 miles), near public transport and not too pricey. I am thinking possibly Dalkeith area as we have friends there. Any suggestions/recommendations?

@tiermat, I spotted on Saturday that the area after Gilmerton but before the Bypass now has many houses. I knew they were building them and they have now really appeared. The big block has solar panels on the roof, and really stood out but I am assuming the stand alone houses are nearly finished. If you are willing to try the Brave New World. Otherwise Dalkeith is a good shout though not sure how pricey property is there now.

Similar building all over Kirkliston to the north west. Maybe also some in Kirknewton and Ratho for sure to the south west, again price wise nothing cheap now.

Some have been occupied for over a year. Many more not yet started.

Hello! I don't live in the city itself these days but have recently gotten back into cycling and most of my rides have brought me into/through Edinburgh. I'm usually riding an olive green gravel bike that I'm enjoying getting some dirt on.

Hello, I’ve just joined - I used to do a fair bit of road cycling down south including a nice 13 mile commute each way and some mtb at weekends. My bikes have gathered a bit more dust than I’d have liked for a variety of reasons but my new commute has spurred me into action. I’ve posted asking for route advice on a separate thread as my knowledge of Edinburgh by bike is minimal.

How do you actually join CCE? Would it be possible to add a "Join us" button - replicating the current "contact" button? No idea how much work this would involve to set up.

If you're not logged in there is a small register link under the login box, which then goes to the registration page, which usually suggests sending an email to info@ with a username.

You are just supposed to know.

If CCE were a band, it would be King Crimson.
