Watched Tremors for the first time in many, many years tonight and I have determined that it a movie with an important message.

    That message is:

    loners
    get
    et

Only by working with your neighbours can you survive the wormpocalypse. This is a pretty heartwarming theme and one we should probably listen to given the challenges facing us today. Community matters. Not even the heavily armed survivalist can make it without friends. (Though it can at times be helpful to have a seismologist, some paranoid preppers and at least one guy who can drive heavy construction in your social network.)

    Interesting philosophicality.

“ and at least one guy who can drive heavy construction in your social network”

My new network has one who can get (official) use of such equipment. Also have two professional chainsaw users.

Just got one of these -

There's a less heart warming interpretation of these kinds of parables (which, below the surface entertainment schlock, is what they are).

Namely, that anyone who does not conform to a relatively narrow set of social norms does not deserve to live. Conformity or death.

That appears to be the philosophy of the car owning masses, for example.

    Konstantin Lopushansky, he's yer man

does a great film interpretation of the Strugatsky brothers "Ugly Swans" novel that we all know and love

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0439581/

kinda does the same as Tarkovsky did with Stalker for Roadside Picnic, another novel by the same authors

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079944/

    Both films unmissable
