Heres another tip, get some practice in.

Today I took the Significant Other out to the Hermitage for a ride on the snowy trails out of the way of the traffic. Conditions were 'perfect', hard packed bumpy ice with a dusting of grippy snow and occasional patches of slush. Not to mention winter wonderland type scenery :)

Before we set off the S.O. was defiantly unsure about the idea of riding in these conditions but a nice slow and controlled crawl through the trees was all they needed to start relishing the idea of cycling again with renewed confidence.

We weren't the only ones either, passed a cycling family on the way, which made a change from the hoards of roadies in evidence everywhere else ;)

Oh, I learnt a lot more about bike control too!

Depends what they're hoarding. Tins of chamois cream? The ends of rolls of bar tape?

I've considered taking my SWMBO out but that wuld mean putting the wee boys in the trailer and unless they're speeding along they get bored and I imagine cold at the mo.
