ScotGov usually waits 2 weeks before announcing what's already happened in England, surpised they moved so quick on this. Guess they need to complete with the English economy and need the kids back so the adults can go to work.

4th July is England's 'Independance day'."

"Sure Fox will like that little tribute to the 'special relationship'."

Just to be clear, BJ never said that, it was just my playing with words because of the date, and supposed freedoms English citizens may think they have won...

So, everything pretty much back to normal over the next couple of weeks. Only a few things you'll still not be able to do after 15th July: theatre, bingo, clubbing, go to college, engage in communal worship, get married with guests., go the gym or the football/rugger etc, get your teeth drilled. So basically you can't be a student until after the holidays probably.

All allowed activities subject to special hygiene measures and social distancing apparently. I'm sure that will be respected by punters with the same rigour it has been over the last month, i.e. hardly at all.

From 3 July they were planning to lift the 5-mile limit on travel for leisure and exercise, and holiday cottages where there are no shared services, can open from then. She asked visitors “to be sensitive to rural and island communities”.

From 6 July open outdoor hospitality like beer gardens would be allowed.

Going into phase 3, from 10 July people should be able to meet more households outdoors with distancing. The government is also planning an expansion of the extended household model and ways for young people to mix with friends over the summer.

From 15 July early learning and childcare services would resume, but it was likely that their capacity would be restricted. Also households would be able to meet indoors with hygiene restrictions.

From 15 July pubs and restaurants can open indoors, with distancing, as well as hairdressers and barbers.

    '15th July'

Only 11 days behind England now.

I confess I was surprised that ScotGov caved so quickly on Schools, thought they'd hold out for a bit longer to be different to England.

Don't know if it applies to Uni's too, as there was a peice from Wales on 10PM news last night saying they are complaining they could lose students to English Uni's, and calling on Welsh Govt to allow all students back to at start of term so not to be disadvantaged.

Wales currently, sensibly still has strictest UK lockdown.

"Wales currently, sensibly still has strictest UK lockdown."

But in their case not just to be different from England? :-)

For Wales it's tough as a much longer border with the M4 plugged straight into Cardiff.

You could look at CV-19 away from national boundaries of course and just have stricter metropolitan rules with no-one allowed to travel from Europe's larger cities to rural areas? It may come to that.

Drumpellier Park in Coatbridge was jumping this afternoon. Number 4 son fell off his Kingpin dodging people. Bike seems fine.

My classroom is a lot neater. I flung out decades of junk. Less furniture. Took the metre high Darth Vader home.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/25/major-incident-declared-as-people-flock-to-england-south-coast

A major incident has been declared after thousands of people flocked to beaches on the south coast of England during this week’s hot weather.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council said services were “completely overstretched” as huge numbers of visitors defied advice to stay away.

The council leader, Vikki Slade, said: “We are absolutely appalled at the scenes witnessed on our beaches, particularly at Bournemouth and Sandbanks, in the last 24-48 hours.

“The irresponsible behaviour and actions of so many people is just shocking and our services are stretched to the absolute hilt trying to keep everyone safe. We have had no choice now but to declare a major incident and initiate an emergency response.”

The council said 558 parking enforcement fines had been issued - the highest on record.

Dorset police have urged people to stay away from the area.

Reopening the pubs is going to be absolutely fine....

Officers forced hundreds of boozy youngsters out of the park after they ignored social distancing and mass gathering lockdown rules.
