This post will reveal @gembo's latest post?

I will be moaning about capitalism and the weather in August. Guaranteed.

Won't anyone think of the Old Town Community Council! They'll have to cancel the nineteen different angry meetings they've no doubt already organised about the festivals.

They could always dig up Princes St gardens, so people have something to moan about

British American Tobacco, the maker of brands including Lucky Strike, Dunhill, Rothmans and Benson & Hedges, has said it has a potential coronavirus vaccine in development using tobacco plants.

Very clever that - now when people search for the health effects of tobacco or the work of BAT, a nice positive story pops up amongst all the dire warnings.

A doctor friend of mine has tested positive. So far just a fever; fingers crossed she recovers quickly.

    human to cat coronavirus transmission..

recent reports of a pet cat in Belgium being infected with Covid-19. About a week after the cat’s owner started showing symptoms, the cat also developed breathing difficulties, diarrhoea and vomiting, and subsequent tests by vets at the University of Liège showed the animal was infected with coronavirus

back to normal then, for the drivists out my way.

they aren't going anywhere in particular, just bored of their confinement and revving up the motor in a changing landscape gives them a sense of liberty and purpose. same as it ever was. muppets.

@bax, yeah I've noticed that too. Folk parked up in their 4x4s, jabbering on the phone; "just going for a drive" for the sake of it...

Aren't we all supposed to be avoiding "non-essential" travel?

You can imagine the reaction if we all started riding audaxes again...

Yep all the critics saying what if you fall off should ask what if you crash?

@CycleAlex, in fairness they live in the epicentre of the over tourism epidemic. Now that the AirBnBs have fallen silent, the silent discos have fallen by the wayside, and the living statues are under lockdown the few remaining residents have less to complain about.

Not necessarily this forum, but folk online who mock about city centre residents' complaints about over tourism invariably live in leafy suburbs or not in Edinburgh at all. They literally have no idea what it's like to put up with it day in, day out.

Still, over tourism appears to be a dead duck now. Perhaps folk will move back to the Old Town and live in former AirBnBs?

    Clarification of Guardian story.
"We have worked closely with the team at BrewDog to overcome some of these technical issues. This has been a really successful collaboration with the BrewDog team and we look forward to getting the gel fully operational in health and care settings right across Grampian. We at no time ‘rejected’ the offer, we instead chose to work together on finding a solution.”
Other distillers and breweries have been offering sanitisers too. EU/UK standards are strict though.

Hancock sets goal of 100,000 tests a day by end of April

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2020/apr/02/uk-coronavirus-live-news-updates-covid-19-testing?page=with:block-5e8616d88f087564da1e4a10#block-5e8616d88f087564da1e4a10

He also said something about not overpromising and underdelivering.

I thought the whole thing was a bit surreal today.

It was as though he had been away for a week (he has) and working away (probably) without telling those fronting the daily briefings what was going on. The whole story on tests, testing and timescales was very different from the last few days.

Not least (from medical person not MH), new “fact” - ‘antibody test best done after 28 days’.

Hancock, yes on his brief like he had been practising for a week. Before speaking

    Kuensberg what date?
Hancock definitely before the end of the month

30th April then for the NHstests

    Later for antibodies

[Having]No test better than a bad test

    Soon time to clap
