Good point. Not so many care homes in central Edinburgh.

If you want to see the full breakdown, go here: https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/covid19stats

Table S8 in the "extra tables" spreadsheet has breakdown by smaller council areas (these are the areas from the census/SIMD mapping tool.

Looking at the figures it is quite striking how there are a few areas with relatively large death tolls, then neighbouring areas with none or very few.

“ Looking at the figures it is quite striking how there are a few areas with relatively large death tolls, then neighbouring areas with none or very few.”

    Presumably, generally, with care homes.

More useful might be stats, by area, of all cases with splits of percentage needing hospital admission.

But such details are probably not available?

    "Presumably, generally, with care homes."

Not aware of any care homes on Albert Street.

Maybe other factors at work in certain areas: general ill health, or working in certain occupations where risk of infection is high, e.g. care workers, food retail, public transport drivers, etc.

There's an analysis by occupation in another table which unsurprisingly shows a disproportionate death rate among care workers, transport drivers and "Elementary Administration and Service Occupations" (Supermarket workers? Cleaners? Hospital porters?).

    NS @ Holyrood

    Warns against complacency

    But cases still failing

    Progress “clear and substantial”

“Can now move into next Phase”

‘Gradually remove restrictions ... but risks’

    “Moving to Phase 2 today”

    ‘Staged approach’

‘Stay within on close to local area’

‘Don’t travel more than about 5 miles ... doesn’t aptly to family’...

‘Shielding - can go outdoors for exercise’ - not care homes

    From tomorrow

Shielding people can play golf, outdoor groups not more than 8, don’t go into houses

    Everyone else from tomorrow

1 household meet 2 households outdoors (no more than 8) can use toilet (just don’t touch anything)

“Extended household group” - no social distancing and can stay overnight

    Eg grandparents and single parents

“When I’m doubt please use judgement”

    MONDAY

    Construction sectors do more

Dentists (emergency) - (but some already are)

    Religious buildings for single praying

    29th

More things to open, a bit.

All shops with ‘outdoor entrances’ - not malls

    More NHS services

    PT increased services in P2

    NO DATE FOR BEER GARDENS

    (Or restaurants and gyms)

    Will review 2nd July.

"The first minister say: "At this point, for leisure and recreation purposes, we are asking people not to travel more than around five miles or so from their home."

She stress (sic) that does not apply to meeting family and friends."

That's handy given her trip last weekend. Shame her own Govt's guidelines said it did apply.

@chdot fair enough. Though we've already been locked in. What's the latest guess on reinfection?

@iwrats she's on what the covid doctor called the long tail she's had a temperature since she was diagnosed and its not for shifting. Some days she's totally wiped out. Dr reckons she's way past the infectious stage at least.

Next door neighbour has large family.
Report from eldest coming back from shift at supermarket was that mum had CV-19 like symptoms. She called up test & protect.
They have a car so she drove to airport. Test done and result back negative.
(We share communal access balcony so glad but false results exist of course.)
For non car driving, non native English speaking person 10 times more difficult of course.

They are calling for a green and healthy recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, in particular by reforming destructive farming and unsustainable diets.

NI schoolchildren to follow 1m social distancing

    Robbie Meredith

BBC News NI Arts and Education Correspondent

Social distancing of 1m as opposed to the usual 2m is "safe and appropriate" for children and young people at school, the Northern Ireland Executive has agreed.

The measure will allow "full classes to attend" school.

That is according to guidance sent by the Department of Education to school principals on Thursday.

The guidance outlines how schools may operate when they fully reopen.
