A Formula 1 race track at a site earmarked for a wildlife haven would bring more benefits to the local economy, council chiefs are being told.

How many houses round the track?

He said: “It is scandalous that this valuable site will not generate any local income from birdwatchers, butterflies and seagulls.

    Yeah scandalous.

I wonder where else he’s been proposing this.

I wonder how strong the smell of Special Brew was when the Council Chiefs were being told of this "plan".

The 21st century Resort (houses) near Carnwath previously known as Kerswell is now called Lannraig. Still no resort, but definitely see some houses now on the Dunsyre side. In the middle of nowhere.

It's fine as long as the track has a segregated (and I mean segregated) cycle lane.

Seagulls, butterflies and birdwatchers should all be annihilated.

it smacks of "ask for a pony when you want a puppy" - when the next application/suggestion for a couple of hundred houses is made, it won't seem as crazy as a f1 race track

Citing news reports from 2019 in which it was claimed seagulls were eating other birds, small creatures and each other as climate change affected their behaviour, he told protestors: “If East Lothian wants cannibal seagulls rather than new jobs, tourism and local economic benefits… that is your choice.”

Just read the brochure for that development - can't say I'm a fan, it's nice as it is.

@edinburgh87 will be too wet to play golf on that field. The previous resort The 21st century Kersewell, never happened. A new name and a new sign hasn’t convinced me to remortgage and invest

Hope you're right @Gembo - I do chuckle at the "Resort for the 21st Century" as I pass *notes down possible info question for future Audax event*. A bit remote a location for a care home too IMO - unless they're planning a helipad on the roof. The most worrying thought is the Lang Whang becoming a 20 mile long driveway...

If a 50/60 mile round trip counts as handy, I suppose
