Today’s unsatisfactory bike shop is Evans

    Young Master Gembo bought me some lovely gifts at Xmas. Some summer gloves and a pair of Endura Merino Socks. Both in sizes too small to fit my feet and hands,

    Fortunately I phoned ahead so was already aware I was going to get no joy as I do not have a receipt and I am not going to spoil YMG’s kindness by telling him I am taking the kit back.

    I made a half hearted suggestion that they would be risking some damage to their reputation.

    This was with the young manager guy. Bit angsty. He is.

    Anyways the older chattier guy says Sports Direct policy - you walk out the shop with a bike you change your mind you will not be offered a refund...on line yes but not in the shop...

    Hilariously I bought a pair of the bigger gloves....

    Their excellent red lube only available on line.

    Evan's are just a branch of sports direct now. Even their website has the same layout with the same stuff at the same prices but a different colour.

    You can return online purchases under your distance buying rights but you can no longer return it to store. So any returned now incur a trip to the post office and associated payment.
