You may be familiar with the err lollipop forest you can see coming up from England on the M74.

Similarly on the way to Gladhouse reservoir from auchendinny you can see a series of shapes.

    Do they spell P d e V

Do we know anything of rather fruity gent Pete de Vink who used to be an SNP Councillor? Dutch business fixer. Some investigation.

The trees around Prestonfield House are in the shape of an ace of spades as the house was won by the turn of that card.

The M74 forest is an ace of clubs you sill boy. Planted so that the owner of the land would see it while doing basic training in the air force. Is what I heard.

There is a wood in the shape of a dolphin here. But I think that doesn't work from space.

Peter de Vink was an independent councillor, although he had some sort of agreement with the SNP group. If I remember right there were 8 SNP and 8 Labour councillors, plus Mr de Vink and Ian Baxter (Green). de Vink and Baxter chose to support an SNP administration rather than Labour.

He also has some sort of involvement with Scottish Land & Estates - he's their representative on Midlothian's Access Forum. The other place I've seen him was in a documentary about Fred Goodwin.
