Since today is the most depressing day of the year how about a morning meeting at Peter's Yard to look forward to? 7.45am seems like a good time from previous since it gives those who have to make a detour a better chance of getting there.

Whenday? Friday? That'd give me a few days to earlify my morning-schedule sufficiently.

  3. Yep, I'm good for that, and shall be seeking sympathy due to impending redundancy announced on Friday (though I'm still here till the end of April...)

D'oh, yes I mean Friday 21st. I was so busy trying to highlight the morning bit I forgot to mention the actual day..

Anth - sorry to hear that.

I'd be up for an early meet - especially if it stays dry.

I'm in for the 500m detour and prospect of a bun. Oh yes and fine company.

I'm working at home on Friday but would be up for a 4000m detour for breakfast.
    (Any advance on 4000?)

  9. Yip, I'm possibly working from home (part of my negotiation for the notice period at work) and that would be, roughly, a 6,500m detour (each way...) ;)

Anth, sorry to hear that, although I'm ashamed to say my first thought was 'yay, he can do photos and journalism full time now' :)

Don't think of it as a detour, think of it as 7 1/2km of zone 2 - zone 3 training first thing in the morning resulting in a day long morally superior glow ;-)

Actually I could use it as a setting off point for a training run, coffee, company, cake and GO!

ahm in lahndahn lahvs, think the detour may spill over the 30 minute boris bike free limit, and my oyster card doesn't cover TFL zone 628.

5160m is easy enough as it's mostly dahnhiwl, though I will have to make an extra special effort to get up in time. :-)

Extra 900m for me. It will actually be a nice lie in for me - at the moment I'm heading in to the office at 7 to do important things (like browse CCE!)

according to a lat/long distance calculator for excel I've been playing with at work, it's actually only 488m, so even more reason to be there a couple of seconds early.

    (if anyone cares, =ACOS(COS(RADIANS(90-$B$1))*COS(RADIANS(90-B3))+SIN(RADIANS(90-$B$1))*SIN(RADIANS(90-B3))*COS(RADIANS($C$1-C3)))*6371, where B1 = latitude 1, C1 = longitude 1, B3 = latitude 2, C3 = longitude 2. It's good fun. Honest!)

Surely that's only accurate if you can fly? ;-)

You're slightly above sea level, though, so that 6,371 should be very slightly higher.

I can never make these early morning meets. Have we considered a Sat/Sun morning for example or any time outwith working hours?

We went to the pub last month and made noises about doing it again. I'm sure if you were to suggest one then the Mohammeds will come to the coffee mountain.

Also, if it's not pre-work there's the potential to have a pre/post ride. A pothole / fallen tree inspection perhaps.
