Enrolled microSRD in a bridge8 holiday camp. They promote bikes lots in addition to boats. Based on the canal etc.

Email today "please remain in your car in the car park and a member of staff will come and collect your child. At the end of the session the children will be brought back to the car park where they can be picked up"

Obviously an attempt to be covid-safe etc but ....

Quicker for you to cycle out canal anyway

They had their outdoor cafe running well during lockdown one, looked nice at dusk with twinkly lights.

@SRD - cars as PPE. Used to happen when daughter went to football away game at Wardie. Concept of tandeming there was deemed heroic. Other parents used to queue up to park.
Hope microSRD has a great time though!

I know for fact the majority of people booking places on the Bridge 8 Easter activity days arrive by car. This is a genuine attempt to control numbers arriving on site - you would be amazed at the scrutiny B8 is under from people prepared to pick fault about visitor numbers & physical distancing. This maybe a minor 'travel direction fail' but folk really ought to consider contexts before passing unhelpful comment. It's hardly crime of the Century particularly when you consider the outstanding work B8 does in promoting cycling in the Sighthill/Wester Hailes/Calders area.

Did I say it was ‘the crime of the century’? More ‘could do better’.

    Just a wee bit disappointed.

All that was needed was a "...if you are arriving by car then please..."
