Never mind the European Super League - watch as Scotland's political parties battle for the active travel vote. Highlights will be available I'm sure.

Michael Matheson (SNP): Active travel is great, we'll spend at least 10% of the transport budget on active travel. But we also need to dual the A75.

Graham Simpson (Con): Active travel is great, we'll spend at least 10% of the transport budget on active travel. But we also need to remember that drivers are *very* important people.

Alex Rowley (Lab): Active travel is great, we'll spend 10% of the transport budget on active travel. But potholes are the main barrier to cycling.

Mark Ruskell (Green): Active travel is great, we'll spend at least 10% of the transport budget on active travel. But we'd also introduce more 20mph speed limits.

Jane Ann Liston (LD): Active travel is great, we'll spend 7% of the transport budget on active travel. If we tell women they'll drop a dress size, more of them would cycle.

(In fairness to Cllr Liston, she really did seem to "get it", aside from the dress size comment.)

You can be sure that the Tories will find some way to spend the 10% active travel budget on potholes, a new Niceway code, free helmets, paint, converting pavements to shared-use and other equally useless and outdated things.
