I'll be there with the Kids. The nursery I pick the kids up at is at the top of lanark road and quite against the lanes so some satisfaction in picking the kids up from there and heading for a wee ride around all the lanes!

Yeah as parking for the nursery staff and drop off for parents tricky

Shame a nursery isn’t interested in Children’s futures

Wonder if a few other family cargo bikers might like. RT'd on Twitter.

It says 6pm on the event @chdot - not sure why you're seeing that

I think that's on your end, @chdot. Facebook seems to think you're in the same time zone as Unalakleet, Alaska. Is your computer's clock correctly set?

I had the same thing when I clicked through the link, but wasn't signed into FB.

My wife's gone to Alaska. Unalakleet? No she's called Joan. How are the bike lanes there? Let's do a demo in Alaska too.

@chdot - I don't know how to solve that - facebook is assuming unlogged in users are in that timezone. I'm not sure what can be done about it.

Don’t worry, as long as it’s only (mostly) me!

Slightly annoying that the time stamp text is slightly larger than the important info.

Can the event time be added to the page title or is that now uneditable?

Apologies for appearing somewhat tentative, but what form will this direct action take? If it's just turn up and ride up and down the Lanark Road cycle lanes then I can manage that.

Also, why was yesterday the deadline for writing to councillors?

others better equipped than me to answer, but here's my best shot:

    yes, ride up and down

if you've not yet written them, then do! anytime until Thursday, but sooner better.

thanks SRD - yes this isn't a led ride at all really although there are folk who know the route better and will make sure we all go the same way. It's just to show support in numbers for the lanes. All intended to be positive, show numbers, ride up and down the lanes and then potentially be interviewed by press afterwards - I know Phyllis from Edinburgh Reporter is going and very keen to support, and have contacted others.

@ejstubbs - nothing so substantial would be decided at the council meeting itself, they meet in the day or two prior to iron out what's going to happen. That means today & tomorrow. Still write if you can!

Transport and Environment Convener Councillor Lesley Macinnes said: “We’re aware of the reaction from the public in favour of retaining the Lanark Road scheme.

We’re currently considering what our next steps should be on the matter and will be confirming this in the course of the next couple of days.”
