if a journalist takes a public stance on issues that anger *certain media* outlets or political parties then it can lead to internal investigations.

My asterisks. I don't watch or listen to UK BBC due to a tendency to be London-centric with Daily Mail type opinions being featured too often.
BBC Radio Scotland does try to review newspapers from here with a range of contributors (e.g. Andrew Tickell, Shona Craven).
Radio 5 is just full of angry voices. Radio Scotland is often 'crashed' by this loud and angry channel - usually at newstime when they flick wrong switch at Pacific Quay!. Of course RS is just one of dozens of 'local' channels and not that important it seems. (Music jazz, folk, Vic Galloway etc is good with local gigs and artists that no-one else does nationally)

Given that all parties claim to support LTNs I found this action particularly weird.

Can somebody post some happy news? That's too f ing depressing to have the directors at the BBC against us as well (and against a liveable future for our children)

“happy news” is of course subjective.

This was on last night and highlighted past actions of the Board -

To me ‘happy news’ is the number of people willing to encourage other people to set up Bikes Buses AND the subsequent/consequence effect on many children and parents.

Whether this is remotely enough to counter the ‘anti-cycling hysteria’ remains to be seen.
