    I just wanted to drop a note of appreciation that the site is still going and still with a great digest of what's happening across the city!

    Having maxed out on despair the other day, I decided to just give up and roll with the punches for a while. I'll be checking in here for my essential updates on Prof Hovercraft!

    Good shout, Dave. This site is a fun and an essential resource that needs to be nurtured. How can we encourage people back from their alternative secret channels?

    I think we all need campaigning sabbaticals.

    Thanks for your determined effort over the past few years Dave. You more than deserve a break. It would grind anyone down.

    @Dave Thanks for thanks

    Deleting your Twitter a/c is certainly a statement!

    “I just wanted to drop a note of appreciation that the site is still going and still with a great digest of what's happening across the city!”

    Obviously it’s partly because I’m still posting more than most people. Some days I wonder if it’s counterproductive - as in discouraging/annoying others…

    But it’s not just about me!

    This forum started in the distant past when my Wordpress news site seemed to have served its purpose and Anth was giving up his great online magazine.

    For some reason we thought a forum might be a good idea. Realistically it could have been seen as a bad idea - Spokes had one but hardly anyone used it, CyclingScotland had (as I remember/imagine) given up theirs - had to moderate uncomplimentary comments…

    Anyway. CCE became a thing - or realistically different things to different people.

    There have been curious hiccups (won’t dwell!), but the value remains - a place to have opinions, post news, ask questions AND get answers from some really amazing knowledgeable people!

    A lot of people have been here since the early days, so I’m not complaining about the (relatively) low number of posters.

    There are some people I would like to be posting still, but lives move on. Forums die. This one isn’t on life support.

    Don’t forget there are more readers than writers.

    Yes, I've always kept up with it even if long periods go without posting. http://www.irreverence.co.uk/ccefeed/ is my go-to to make sure I don't miss stuff.

    Your twitter crossrefs actually saved me from bothering to be on twitter for many years!

    That's a big statement - will free up energy to apply elsewhere though. Change has to happen. Digging in on the hills is the thing. You've done plenty and is often hard to sit back as always more to do.
