I noticed that the traffic light sensor at the bottom of Pitsligo Road has a couple of LEDs on it (red and green). As I approached they seemed to go through some sequence before settling on the green LED being lit.

This didn't correspond to the lights going green but did seem to indicate that I had been picked up as I got my turn after E/W traffic on Newbattle had cleared.

Maybe these are more widespread and I just haven't noticed, but for a cyclist they are extremely welcome feedback in my opinion.

The ones at Tesco Corstorphine do my head in as I like to turn right on to Ladywell road from Meadowplace Road. If you stay in the bike lane and try to go to the right lane via the ASL you not only risk getting knocked down but the sensor doesn't pick you up either. My normal tactic is to get into the right lane really early as that's the best chance for the sensor to spot you. Having said that last week I gave up as it went through 3 light changes without the right turn arrow coming on!
