According to the Sun David Walliams will be passing through Edinburgh in March as part of a charity ride from John O'Groats to Land's End.

road.cc repeats the story but with the headline "Walliams to cycle not-so-little Britain from Land's End to John O'Groats" - which is the direction most people choose...

    UPDATE

    road.cc has corrected its story

"for the record it's JOGLE not LEJOG - 'scuse our mistake"

    - don't see apologies every day...

David Walliams does find it difficult to decide which way to go............

JOGLE is the hard way to cycle (maybe he is taking his time, very sensible). The LEJOG record breakers hang around Lands End/Penzance all spring waiting for a fearsome South Westerly then off they go - boom 45 hours and they are at John O'Groats.

There was an Ironman going for the JOGLEJOG record which is something like 7 days last year on the CTC forum that isn't half as interesting as this one. Not sure how he got on..

Wonder if they have more support vehicles than cyclists!

Some interesting debate around some of the claimed stats (see the comments as well as the article):

Which reminded me of my own spurious post in another thread.

Some interesting points about the reliability or not of GPS systems in the comments. I always have ascents calculated by the map rather than by GPS on mine as the GPS is crazy. Otherwise not much point speculating about the ascent they may have made unless we actually know what route was taken!
