Transport and Travel in Scotland Results from the Scottish Household Survey 2024

    In 2024, 5% of people had cycled as a means of transport at least one day in the week leading up to the survey interview and 5% had cycled for pleasure or to keep fit. These figures were slightly lower than in 2023. [Table 25a]

    The latest Transport and Travel in Scotland 2024 report data shows that only 41% of residents in 'accessible rural areas', are satisfied with public transport.

    This represents the lowest satisfaction rate across Scotland.

    The figure is 43% in remote rural areas and almost half the satisfaction rate reported in large urban areas which sits at 75%.
